he purpose of this lesson is to understand the characteristics and structure of modern Japanese thought, focusing on Shinichiro Nishi's thought. The textbooks used in this lesson are Shinichiro Nishi's books "The Theory of Loyalty and Filial Piety" (Iwanami Shoten), "The Basic Problem of Ethics" (Iwanami Shoten), and Yoshinori Eto "Shinichiro Nishi's Thought: Asking Peace and Reconciliation from Hiroshima" (Nakanishiya Shuppan). Through this lesson, we will clarify the original structure of Shinichiro Nishi's thought (such as the "paradigm of particular as universal", "the process of subject transformation" and "the idea of emptiness"), and the possibility of the thought as a peace theory. Understand the characteristics and structure of modern Japanese thought.

Each assigned research topic is expected to be done by the class. 
Requirements Credits will not be granted if students do not attend at least two-thirds of the class hours. However, if the absence is due to illness or other unavoidable reasons, it will be considered.
