This course is aimed at understanding the Tibetan Buddhist interpretation(s) of the Yogācāra thought by reading and analyzing Tsong kha pa's Legs bshad snying po. By utilizing 20 commentaries, related literature, and audio data of lectures given by contemporary Tibetan scholar-monks, we will clarify problems in previous studies and provide a more accurate reading of the original text. Students will also acquire the skills to accurately translate the text into English and Japanese. |
