/Class Outline
The lecture will focus on descriptions of historical events in the postwar period. The course aims to provide students with the ability to understand modern Japanese history, especially the history and culture of contemporaneous history, from a relative perspective. The course format will consist mainly of lectures and close reading of texts. Students will learn how to deal with contemporaneous history as an academic discipline, which is indispensable for the study of " Japanese studies" from various perspectives, paying attention to the closest history to understand the "present" and incorporating an international perspective.
