To introduce and stimulate awareness on the UN Sustainable Development Goals
To discuss pressing environmental issues of the day 
Class Schedule lesson1 Introductory lectures to be followed by discussion questions
lesson2 Topics include, but not, restricted to the following:
Global hunger, environmental and climate change, sustainable agriculture, food production losses, food waste, Covid-19 pandemic, bioprospecting, de-extinction, etc.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it This is a class strongly based on active participation and free sharing of ideas. Opinions are valued and will contribute towards the clarification of topics presented in class. 
Message This class is usually a small one, with only a handful of registrants (<10 students) so it is important that each one participates actively.  Just attendance in class without participation or inputs will not earn any credits. Each student needs to participate by speaking and sharing his/her opinions. The class has become very popular during the last few years. To give you an idea, there were 40+ students registered for the class in 2024, coming from about 15 different countries. The discussion therefore becomes lively and international in nature. 
Other Face-to-face participation is strongly encouraged in order to achieve the learning objectives of this class. Only under very special circumstances will online participation be permitted. The class is intensive, given four (4) hours each day on four (4) consecutive days. The classes will be held everyday from 21 January 2025 to 24 January 2025, unless otherwise rescheduled with prior notice. Students should make every effort to be present and show active participation in all activities.
