This class will focus on the principle, features, compositions and applications of analytical methods to develop a new sensing device. Participants are encouraged to learn basic principles as well as advanced applications and future designs, especially in a fused field with biotechnology. |

lesson 1 Guidance, The basic component of sensing devices. (Kuroda and Funabashi) lesson 2 Colorimetric method, Fluorescent method and Luminescent method. (Funabashi) lesson 3 Chromatography. (Funabashi) lesson 4 NMR, ESR and Raman spectroscopy. (Funabashi) lesson 5 Optical microscopy and SPM. (Funabashi) lesson 6 What are proteins? and Their analytical methods. (Funabashi) lesson 7 What are nucleic acids? and Their analytical methods. (Funabashi) lesson 8 SPR and QCM. HTS and MEMS. (Funabashi) lesson 9 Trends in biosensing utilizing luminescence.
