This course will focus on contemporary methods of organic synthesis through reviewing total synthesis papers from the original literature. |
Class Schedule |
Practice using articles related to organic synthesis and natural product total synthesis.
1) We will read original papers, which are written in English, carefully every time. 2) Each presenter makes resume and describes the keyword of the article concerned, a background, an experiment method, experimental data in detail as well as adding own original discussion about the paper every time. 3) You also discuss about the significance and the problems of the paper. 4) You will attend the seminar and present your own theme and discuss your results with collaborators. In addition to the deep reading of the original paper, the collection of basic knowledge and the investigation of the cited literature are also important. Through discussion, try to identify uncertain points and to acquire new knowledge and ideas. |

The total score (100 points), consisting of attitude (20 points), comprehension of content (40 points), and attitude toward presentation and discussion (40 points). A score of 60 or above is passing. |
