The research field of radiation disaster and medical science covers a wide range of fields such as basic biology, clinical medicine, epidemiology, and social medicine, and it is necessary to promote cross-disciplinary research. In this lecture, students will acquire knowledge on the main themes of the research field of radiation disaster and medical science, such as the elucidation of the effects of low-dose radiation exposure on the human body, the molecular mechanisms of human disorders caused by high-dose radiation exposure, regenerative medicine for emergency medical care, and research on various issues revealed by the occurrence of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident.
