This course is one of the elective subjects in the category of "Sustainable Development Courses" for Common Graduate Courses. This category of courses aims to provide opportunities for students to understand the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), set by an international agreement. It also aims to equip students with the ability to advance science to enable sustainable development and the ability to solve various challenges in society.

Each expert will give a lecture on how knowledge and technology in the field of natural science can be used to attain the SDGs listed in keywords.

lesson2 Our oceans are changing: What we can do for sustainable oceans (Uye)
lesson3 Wise use strategies of fertilizer resources for sustainable crop production (Ueda)
lesson4 Mechanisms of human and animal immune response caused by vaccine including mRNA vaccines (Furusawa)
lesson5 How can food functions ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages? (Suzuki)
lesson6 SDGS Goal 15: halt biodiversity and forest loss – how can we achieve it? (Yamada)

Bachelor’s degree-level knowledge of natural and environmental sciences are required.  Acquire basic knowledge of SDGs from the UN website. 
Requirements Maximum 20 students. When the student capacity is exceeded, we make a participant drawing. International students who are required to take SDGs courses in English due to the rules of the program and are forced to take on-demand classes will be prioritized. Scheduled to take place in August-September. 
Grading Method Based on attendance, result of quizzes or reports, and performance of presentation.
