As a Japanese subject for international students, we have the following positioning:

Based on the knowledge and skills of Japanese acquired at the basic stage,
(1) Develop comprehensive basic Japanese skills suitable for cultured Japanese users, including written Japanese skills.
(2) By learning expressions of acceptance, expressions related to conversation management, conversational sentence-ending expressions, etc., improve face-to-face and oral conversation skills.
(3) Learn about various familiar topics, and by discussing them with each other, experience the diversity of the world and individuals, and adopt an attitude that accepts diversity and individuality.

Objectives of the lesson:
In this class, based on the Japanese knowledge and skills acquired in the basic stage, we aim to develop comprehensive basic Japanese language skills, including oral and written Japanese, equivalent to N4 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. Make it a goal. The specific goals are as stated in "Learning Outcomes" above.
In order to achieve these goals, this class covers a variety of topics in units, and through engaging in a variety of language activities around these topics, students will enhance their Japanese vocabulary, sentence patterns, grammar, etc., and improve their conversation management skills. enhance and develop basic reading and writing skills. The topics to be covered and the language items to focus on are as shown in the lesson plan.

Requirements ・Students must take the Morito International Higher Education Institute's Japanese placement test. Applicants must already have Japanese language proficiency at the level of completing the Basic Japanese Course (approximately 300 hours; at our university, Japanese 210, Japanese 220, and Elementary Japanese).
・Intermediate Japanese D-1, Intermediate Japanese E-1, and Intermediate Japanese F-1 are one set of subjects. Students who wish to take this course must take all subjects. 
Grading Method ・Performance in class: 20%, Submission of worksheets, etc.: 30%, Essay: 10%, Final oral test: 10%, Final written test: 30%
