Class Objectives /Class Outline |
The course consists of two interlocking classes per week. In addition to Basic Chinese IV, which will be offered in the second semester, the course aims to help students acquire the basic skills of "听 (listening)", "说 (speaking)", "读 (reading)" and "写 (writing)" in a well-balanced and comprehensive manner during one year. The aim is to acquire the basic skills of "听 (listening)," "说 (speaking)," "读 (reading)," and "写 (writing)" in a well-balanced and comprehensive manner. |
Class Schedule |
Students will learn basic grammatical items step by step through example sentences and skits in the textbook, while acquiring the four skills of 听・说・读・写 in a well-balanced manner.
1th-14th The course will follow the textbook and include grammar explanations, reading, listening comprehension, and conversation practice, with the aim of acquiring grammatical knowledge and expressive skills. Specific instructions on how to proceed and how to study will be given in class.

There is a well-established standard test, Test of Chinese Proficiency , three times a year (the fourth Sunday of March, June, and November). If you study regularly in (and outside) the class, you will be sufficiently developed to achieve the fourth grade level. You should try it. |
