To cope with the globalization era, the goal is to develop communication skills that allow individuals to receive and transmit information in various foreign languages, acquire knowledge and skills, and deepen understanding of different languages and cultures. 
Expected Outcome1. To be able to conduct daily communication orally and in writing in a foreign language.
2. To be able to understand many languages and cultures by using multiple foreign languages. 
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
・This course aims for students to learn pinyin and master Chinese pronunciation, which is the most important point in Primary Chinese learning.
・The goal is to acquire fundamental Chinese language skills over the course of one year, in conjunction with Basic Chinese II, III, and IV.

Lesson 1: Orientation / Pronunciation Practice
Lesson 2 ~ Lesson10: Pronunciation Practice
Lesson 11: Main part  Lesson One (1)

Tuesdays (Kaku):
The course aims to develop comprehensive Chinese language skills in accordance with the textbook. Details regarding specific class procedures and learning methods will be explained and instructed during the course.

Details about the format and schedule of the final exam (kimatsu test) will be provided by the instructors prior to the exam.

・The textbooks used will vary depending on the instructor. Explanations regarding textbooks, dictionaries, and reference materials will be provided during the first class.
・In Oshima's class, a Chinese-Japanese dictionary is required. Detailed explanations regarding dictionaries will be given during Oshima's first class.

Thursdays (Oshima):
  Please practice pronunciation diligently. Be sure to preview and review the contents of the textbook.
Tuesdays (Kaku):
 Guidance on how to prepare and review will be provided during class. 
Requirements This class consists of two lessons per week. Please make sure to attend the paired classes (Oshima/Kaku). 
Grading Method 40% for regular assessment and 60% for the final exam.
Details on grading method will be explained at the orientation of class, at the first day.
