This course will provide students with an opportunity to look back on the history of special needs education in Japan, specifically the history of education for children with physical disabilities and to look at how the state of disabilities has been transformed due to the development and availability of pediatric care and home care today and what today’s educational and support needs are, and think about how education for children with physical disabilities should be in the future in consideration of the situations of today.

This is an intensive lecture course. In every class, you should concentrate on the lecture and solve your questions by asking. Review what you learn in the lesson on the day of the lesson to acquire the knowledge. 
Requirements  
Grading Method Evaluation will be based on participation in group work and discussion (15%), a mid-term confirmation test (15%), a presentation on solutions to issues facing education for the physically challenged (40%), and a credit assignment (30%). 
Practical Experience Experienced  
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it This class will be taught by teacher who have been providing instruction to students with physical disabilities at special needs schools.
In class, I will explain instruction for children with multiple disabilities.
