・To comprehensively understand morphological, ecological, physiological, pathological, biochemical, and genetic features of various creatures in hydrosphere.
・To understand physiological, pathological, biochemical, genetic systems which are required for management and expansion of fishing resource.
・Understanding on relation between form and ecology of hydrosphere organisms and hydrosphere environment

lesson5 Coral reefs in our changing world
lesson6 Coral bleaching and phase shifts in today's reefs
lesson7 Ocean warming and its impact on marine forests
lesson8 Planktonic communities and some aspects of their ecology
lesson9 Harmful algal blooms, microbial loop and ENSO
lesson10 Continental shelf and mesophotic communities

Final examination will be given in the form of essay questions to determine comprehension and knowledge integration
Bibliography project will involve literature survey of special topics.

Attendance and note-taking during lectures, asking questions and active participation will help students have a good learning experience. Lectures in English will be conducted using simple vocabulary and illustrative examples to allow better understanding. Literature search skills using the Internet will be required.

Preparation and
Review
Basic knowledge of biology and general ecology will be helpful. Literature searching skills using Internet, university library resources will be useful. Consultation with course instructor is encouraged at times. 
Requirements at least 80% attendance, active participation, submission of bibliography project and passing the final examination. 
Grading Method 10% attendance, 10% participation, 30% bibliography project, 50% final examination 
Practical Experience Experienced  
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Experience with listening, reading, writing and speaking using middle level English will be available in this class. Students will learn basic skills in literature searching which will be useful for preparation for thesis research.
