The first guidance will be held on the same day, regardless of Group 1 or 2 (Wednesday or Friday). Please register your participation in Temas in advance, as the participation code for Teams will be communicated in Momiji. You will be assigned to a group on Wednesday or Friday. We will make an announcement on Momiji in late March, so please check it. |

Class Objectives /Class Outline |
The principles and operation of a major electrical and electronic technology to support modern society. We try to experience throughout the experiment. |
Class Schedule |
1. Measurements of electrical resistances in DC circuits and R, L, and C in AC circuits 1st experiment Measurements of electrical resistance of various materials in a DC circuit Wheatstone bridge and measurements of electrical resistances.
2nd experiment Kelvin double bridge and measurements of electrical resistances Measurements of electrical resistances and temperature coefficients of resistance of metal wires (Cu and Fe) with Kelvin double bridge.
3rd experiment AC characteristics of R, L, and C Frequency characteristics of impedance and phase Differential circuits and integral circuits. 4th experiment Frequency characteristics of series resonance circuit and parallel resonance one Measurements of R, L, and C with AC bridge.
2. Construction of circuits Experiment1 Design and fabrication of a power supply chassis, and training of soldering.
Experiment2 Fabrication of rectifying circuit by using diode bridge. Measurement of electrical characteristics on various electronic components. Experiment3 Fabrication of smoothing circuit by using capacitor and Zener diode. Experiment4 Fabrication of a constant voltage power supply
3. Frequency analysis 1st week: Fourier transform 2nd week: Frequency analysis of sound 3rd week: Frequency analysis of image Final week: Consideration and report
Students will be required to submit quizzes and reports. |

Suggestions on Preparation and Review |
1. Measurements of electrical resistances in DC circuits and R, L, and C in AC circuits Students are required to understand and prepare the theory and experiment contents of textbook in each class. In particular, students are required to have studied and understood the equipment and principles use in the experiments.
2. Construction of circuits Read up on the series voltage regulator (linear regulator circuit).
3. Frequency analysis The purpose of this experiment is frequency analysis using Fourier transform. Therefore, it is preferable to prepare for Fourier transform. |
Requirements |
You will be assigned to either Group 1 (Wednesday) or Group 2 (Friday) classes. Group assignments will be announced on Momiji in late March, so please check back. |
Grading Method |
Overall evaluation based on active participation in experiments, quizzes, and reports |
Practical Experience |

Message |
There is a possibility that we may use both face-to-face and online sessions this year, taking into account the impact of COVID-19, so keep an eye out for notifications from Momiji, email, and Teams. A quiz and report submission will be assigned. Students will be required to submit quizzes and reports, which will be resubmitted if incomplete. |
Other |
We are conducting a class improvement questionnaire for all classes, so please cooperate in answering the questionnaire. Faculty members will provide comments on the responses, which will be used for future improvements. |
Please fill in the class improvement questionnaire which is carried out on all classes. Instructors will reflect on your feedback and utilize the information for improving their teaching. |
