/Class Outline
Students are grouped into small groups and assigned to an instructor. Each student conducts a research and participates in experiments, practical trainings, discussions, seminars and presentations in the field of science technology in the group under the instructor.
As a part of orientation function of university education that based on voluntary learning, it is aimed to increase the motivation to intellectual activities at early stage after enrollment, and to develop logical and critical thinking skills and appropriate self-expression ability. In addition, as the start of learning in university, it is aimed to promote communication between students and instructors as well as among students to develop learning networks.
 
Class Schedule Non-lecture style class, experimental and interactive learning form, such as seminars, discussions, experiments, and practical trainings, are conducted. Specific contents vary with team.

3:“Explore the biological mechanisms: Toward applications to intelligent machinery” Biological Systems Engineering Lab. (Prof. Tsuji, Prof. Kurita, Prof. Soh)
To learn the biological systems and intelligent machineries. The participants will make a presentation on their selected topics.

5:“The fundamentals and applications of mathematical sociology” Social Informatics Lab. (Prof. Hayashida, Prof. Sekizaki)
In this seminar, participants can learn about mathematical sociology which can analyze social phenomena in our society.

6: “The structure of supply chain” Production Systems Engineering Lab. (Prof. Morikawa, Prof. Nagasawa)
The meaning, the current status and issues of supply chain are investigated, presented and discussed.

7:“Introduction to Digital Control” Control System Engineering Lab. (Prof. Kinoshita)
The skill to effectively utilize Hiroshima University is first studied, followed by empirically studying 'Digital Control' by using micro-controllers (one-chip microcomputers).

Grading Method For recognition of credits, evaluation is made by using the following 1 to 6 as reference.
1. Participate in voluntary learning activities are observed, and students are able to form voluntary learning attitude. [Self-directed learning]
