In dental technology facilities (dental technician's office and hospital dental technology room), metal prostheses (crowns, bridges, and dentures) are individually fabricated by hand using the lost-wax casting technique, in which wax patterns are prepared, embedded, and cast. The theory, techniques and problems of the lost-wax metal casting procedure commonly used in the clinical setting will be learned through hands-on experience.
