Pathology is learning to understand cause, origins, course and outcome of the disease. In the first half of the class, you will learn pathogenesis and features of diseases which are commonly found in systemic organs in across sectoral manner. Then , in the second half , you will learn the pathological features of diseases in oral region, more detail. |

1 Pathogenesis (endogenous and exogenous causes) and representative genetic diseases. 2 Degeneration, atrophy, necrosis and major metabolic disorders. 3 Hypertrophy, regeneration, metaplasia, granulation tissue and wound healing. 4 Anemia, hyperemia, congestion, hemorrhage and shock. 5 Characteristic of benign and malignant tumor. 6 5 major signs of inflammation, types of inflammation and their representative diseases 7 Basic immuno reactions and various allergic responses. 8 Representative tumor of oral region. 9 Various tooth abnormalities. 10 Kinds of odontogenic and non-odonotogenic cysts. 11 Patogenesis of caries, enamel caries and dentin caries rod. 12 Particularity, types and characteristics of palpitis. 13 Kinds and characteristic of periapical lesions 14 Characteristic of periodontal tissue and causes and kinds of periodontitis. 15 Characteristic and differences of periodontitis and gingivitis. |
Requirements |
Because the terms and expressions used in pathology are basic technical words that should carry as a dental parsonnel, please try to understand them. |
Grading Method |
Attendance of at least two-thirds is required to take the exam (including the follow-up and special exams). You should have a written examination after all of the lectures. A score of 60 or higher is a passing the exam. The follow-up and special exams will be given if necessary. |
