For the dentist, the anatomical knowledge not only about the mouth and related region but also for the fundamental structures of a human whole body is essential, in order to plan the restoration, maintenance, and improvement of health of the whole body.
So, this practice is very important in the dentistry program.

Class Objectives
/Class Outline
In this practice, we have dissect human cadavers for understanding the normal gross anatomy of human skeletal system, muscular systems, blood vascular system and peripheral and central nervous system, especially head, face and neck region, all of which are very important for the dentistry.

14 Dissection evaluation
15 Examination 1

Oral and written examinations will be done in the middle and the end of the practice.

Brief explanation about the part dissected on each day is given before the each practice time. In addition, since it is difficult to finish dissection of the whole body within practice hours, practice will end around 19:00 each day.
An instruction book for practice of systemic anatomy is distributed before the practice start. It is impossible to have practice only in the instruction book that we prepared, and the textbook used for the class "Anatomy and Embryology" is essential.  In addition, Anatomy Training Atlas is used as a textbook.

Suggestions on
Preparation and
Since the lecture about human anatomy is hardly performed except for introduction and the head and neck region, it is indispensable for preparing one's lesson to have practice smoothly and to deepen anatomical understanding. Therefore, the subject in the instruction book should be studied before each practice time. Since the amount of knowledge is huge, review is also indispensable. The aim of learning anatomy is not memorize names of anatomical term. Read the text of a reference book and does not forget that the purpose to learn anatomy is to understand the three dimensional structure of the human body.
Requirements In this practice, we use human cadavers which are donated for education and research of medicine and dentistry by themselves.  Always don't forget this, and attend practice in the attitude of being allowed to learn all from the cadaver.
Grading Method Examination (50 pt), sketches of dissected body, scores of reports, and attitude in the practice (50 pt) are included for the final evaluation. Topographic Anatomy I and II and Anatomy Practical I and II are all added up for a common evaluation. Oral and written examinations are done in the middle and the end of practice. When the overall points of the written examination are less than 60% of scores, re-examination will be done at once. As a result of a re-examination, when a score is less than 60%, it is considered as a failure.
Practical Experience Experienced
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Faculties who were involved in the Anatomy class and practice will be in charge.
Other Harmful formalin is used for preservative treatment of the cadaver. Although we devise the fixed method of the cadaver and the ventilation of practical room, it is almost impossible to prevent the damage of formalin. When students feel poor health during practice, please contact a teacher immediately. Formalin, the glove and mask used during practice will be explained before practice.
Please fill in the class improvement questionnaire which is carried out on all classes.
Instructors will reflect on your feedback and utilize the information for improving their teaching.
