/Class Outline
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. Understand and explain the definition of occupational therapy, occupational therapy history, and the types of disabilities targeted in occupational therapy.
2. Understand key occupational therapy theories and model, the concept of occupation, relationship between human being and occupation, and the perspectives on health in the field of occupational therapy.
3. Understand occupational therapy practice provided to people with four types of disabilities (physical, mental, developmental, and aging).
4. Understand occupational therapy code of ethics, risk management, and occupational therapy service fee guidelines.
5. Consider what it is like to live with disabilities and what issues people living with disabilities tend to face in their daily lives, through experience of having disabilities.
