Class Objectives /Class Outline |
This course is designed for an orientation of undergraduate students regarding the essential information of epidemiology and population sciences, and its’ importance and implications in public health.
The overall objectives of the course for participants are to: 1. Describe the necessary information of epidemiology and various methods of epidemiological studies. 2. Outline the way of epidemiological study to the control of diseases and other health problems. 3. Explain the basic issues and techniques of population sciences to address the public health challenges. 4. Interpret health rights, behavioral changes, and social impact on public health services. 5. Continue the practice of English communication.
Specific course objectives: After the successful completion of the course, participants will be able to: 1. Understand the basics of epidemiological study and integrate the importance of disease analysis. 2. Illustrate trend and patterns of population growth, demographic transition, and issues of population and development. 3. Recognize the causes of migration, urbanization and health care challenges, and the health policies and programs in reproductive health. 4. Clarify population, gender, equity, resources, human rights and importance of health education approaches. |
