Class Objectives
/Class Outline
In order to improve applicability of communication in English, the students must learn about scientific topics and develop skills for writing essay, poster preparations, and presentation. In addition to these, the students practice logical thinking. 
Class Schedule Lesson 1: Students are divided into 4 classes by two English language lecturers. Each class consists of a small number of students (4-6 persons).
To be familiar to a communication in English as soon as possible, the class is composed of the students with a different major field and a different year in English. The member makes a self-introduction as an ice-break.
Lesson 2-7: Students survey a wide rage of subjects in science and technology, and discuss with the instructors or coordinators which topic will be chosen as a subject. The class has the form of a seminar by means of subject matter in natural sciences.
The students learn the factors to make an understandable document: structure, expression, content, logic. Some foreigner professors join the class as a research adviser.
Lesson 8-13: The classes are devoted to poster preparation: discussion on the contents, writing a composition on the subject, making a manuscript, and practice of poster presentation in English.
The English language lecturers instruct the student on correct pronunciation in English. Faculty staffs and foreigner professors offer suggestion or advice from the viewpoint of the relevant discipline.
Lesson 14: Poster presentation is held in two sessions in the middle of January. The students present their own posters for about 15 minutes to the participants who are their classmates, students in a lower or higher grade, faculty staff, and professors.
The audience evaluates the presentation on the existing criterion.
Lesson 15: The instructors review the student’s academic work in the class.

The students are recommended to be familiar to the technical terms in the interested field. 
Requirements The students are encouraged to have a wide survey on the interested subject and then to tackle a task of poster presentation in English. 
Grading Method Evaluation will be comprehensively judged by the behavior during the class, quality of the poster, and the presentation ability, etc.
