・Based on basic knowledge which is already acquired, to obtain the following experimental skills in order to practice research: 1) Basic observation skills and skills to manage experiments. 2) Ability to record observed natural phenomena. 3) Ability to collect and assess data. 
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
We expect the students to have a chance to contact creature directly in nature to understand biodiversity and to create an opportunity to be able to see biology from many sides.  Participant can understand living organisms in nature with five senses. 
Class Schedule The following contents will be implemented in an intensive course of 3 days and 1 nights.
1.Lecture for Animal classification and Ecology
2.Collecting intertidal organism at sandbar and rocky shore
3.Plankton sampling by plankton net
4.Identification and recording of the collected organisms
5.Collecting and sketch of sea firefly

Each participant presents the results of analysis, etc., conducted in the marine course and has discussions.

Review
All students are expected to read general books on animal diversity and illustrated books on marine animals prior to the practice.  
Requirements Follow the instructions by the biological science office for how to register.
The students with any kind of allergy and/or idiosyncrasy must inform us in advance.
The data, assignments, and all that collected, created, and submitted by the students in relation to the class may be used and published as teaching materials for the Hiroshima University in the future. Please note that when you submit your request to take this class, we will treat it as your agreement to the above. 
Grading Method A grading will be given by evaluating practical attitude and report, presentation, comprehensively.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it  
Message The course will be held at the marine lab located at Mukaishima-cho, Onomichi city for three-day one-night study camp combined with another online presentation. The course will be limited to about 24 participants.  You will be responsible for the cost of your transportation and food.
