This course will be conducted in the style of tutorials, mostly doing exercises, discussions and presentations with lecturers.

・To thoroughly understand and learn knowledge of physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry and organic chemistry.
・Understanding and acquiring logical frameworks and structure of basic studying and knowledge and skills necessary for learning construction. 
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This language course aims to develop English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills of students that are essential in academic/professional settings related to chemical sciences.  
Class Schedule The course offers two streams (Group A and B) to ensure the effectiveness of teaching. It spans over two semesters by 3 lecturers (10 lectures by each sensei) so all students needs to take both courses.

Yasuda(10 lectures)
Systematic development of quantitive (e.g. describing data presented in different formats) and qualitative (e.g. discussions and logical arguments) writing skills to prepare for writing reports, theses and papers.

Muramatsu (10 lectures)
Build skills on using scientific descriptions on general topics related to physical sciences as well as developing general communication skills (speaking, listening) as a scientist by doing systematic practices in textbooks.  

COSQUER (10 lectures)
Systematic development of comprehension and communication of scientific issues by studying journal publications and videos followed by discussions conferences and presentations.


Assignments of writing, reading and presentations will be given out as well as quizzes and tests.

One-two hours of studying is expected for each lecture. Please follow each lecturers instructions. Language learning requires systematic and persistent practices so students should invest time to study.

Grading Method Each lecturer will evaluate independently and the score will be averaged as the final grade. Students will receive a grade for each semester.
