Class Objectives
/Class Outline
The course is given to acquire the fundamental knowledge of mathematical analysis and differential equations. Basic notions and skills for understanding advance mathematics related to analysis are developed by reading texts on such fields. Via presentations given by the participants themselves, they find what the words "careful reading and critical thinking" mean.
The participants should give the presentation for your graduation thesis. It is necessary to make this presentation using computer software, such as PowerPoint and TeX. Through this work, the efficient presentation method using computer should be learned.
Class Schedule To develop ability for writing thesis for graduation, in the course, trainings for critical readings of texts are given by seminar style. The participants are also required to raise the ability for finding the theme for a graduate thesis.

Suggestions on
Preparation and
Review
The students should prepare mathematical talks on the subjects in the seminar. First, each line of texts should be read carefully. Second, you should make notes for understanding what the texts explain. Third, you should prepare manuscripts for each presentation. In the class, you do not have any time to consider the contexts. They should have been lready finished in your home. Thus, you have to do your best in each resentation. Even when you have a week not to have your presentation, you ought to study and read texts. You need to keep studying mathematics every day.
Requirements To take this course, you need to satisfy some conditions about taking units for courses. The rule is explained in the manual for students which is distributed when you start your student life of department of mathematics in HU.
Grading Method The rule is explained in the first lesson. The quality of preparation and usual attitude for study are mainly counted.
