・With regard to secondary education and Japanese education in secondary education, to be able to effectively summarize research related to education, contents, and practice. Also, to be able to communicate with an audience by delivering easy-to-understand presentations that summarize the research outcome and arguments. (Presentation ability)
・To work on research or practical activities concerning secondary education and "Japanese language education", showing ability as a member of a team (project-like activity). Also, to be aware of problems, to consider, to research, and to solve problems as a group or a team. (Socially and cooperatively) 
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
"This course designs “Hiroshima University 8 standards” on teaching training, and set up graduating targets along with the each 8 standard. The targets are;

① Acquiring enough knowledge and skills on the contents of the subjects
② Being able to make a guiding plan integrating the comprehension on studying and development
③ Being able to make practical teaching and classes with knowledge on teaching materials and guiding methods.
④ Being able to make an evaluation of development and studying of students
⑤ Being able to guide students by understanding and making reliable relations with them
⑥ Understanding school management.
⑦ Acquiring basic knowledge on school and education.
⑧ Having provided with qualities and abilities necessary for educators ( such as sense of duty, educational affection, interpersonal relationship)

The themes of this course are guidance contents of the subjects (①), guidance methods of the subjects (②~④), student counseling and class and school management (⑤~⑦), qualities and abilities (⑧).  
In this course students refer to the contents of their “teaching certificate portfolio” (course history of teaching-training courses), look back and confirm their achievement level required at each standard, and monitor and evaluate themselves (reflection).  They should complement unachieved points and enhance achieved points through practices, guidance-planning, trial lessons, debates, and case studying.

In Lesson 2-6, fnishing the entry to a worksheet (self-check sheet) before a class.
 
Requirements Limited to earn the credits of Teaching Practice at Junior and Senior High School I and II at Hiroshima University.  If you have not earned these credits yet but are expected to earn them in this semester, you will be able to  enroll this seminar.
 
Grading Method 1. Required to reach at least level 2 or higher for all "Hiroshima University 8 standards" and to submit abstruct portfolio for obtaining a credit
2. Based on the figure from the sum of obtained levels in Standard 1~8,  the following shows the grade.
   Superior: 22 and higher Excellent: 20 and 21  Good : 17~19  Fair: 16  Failed: 15 and lower"
