・Being able to acquire the practical methods of compensating disabilities and necessary accommodations according to characteristics of disabilities.
・Being able to acquire the ability of guiding method for encouraging students with disability to learn and the ability of making and utilizing method of teaching materials and aids for them to learn effectively. 
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
This is teaching practice for students who will obtain a teaching certificate for special-needs-school teaching. The purpose of this course is for the students to acquire qualities and skills needed to be a special-needs-school teacher, by learning how a teaching plan is designed, how teaching materials and tools are used, and how instructions are give in special needs schools, and also for the students to deepen their understanding of children with visual impairments, with hearing impairments, with intellectual disabilities, with physical disabilities, and with health impairments, through interactions with infants and school children there.  
Class Schedule Advance guidance: Check schedule for practice
Advance guidance: Confirming the significance and purpose of teaching practice, setting goals, creating related documents, reviewing lifestyle habits, and maintaining and managing physical condition
Advance guidance: Check items related to the use of SNS, etc.
Advance guidance: Improve the accuracy of lesson study (pre-examination and sharing of pillars for research discussions)
Advance guidance: Confirming manners and common sense as a working adult (with external lecturer)
Advance guidance: Confirmation of matters related to service and work, the significance and method of reporting, communication and consultation
Visiting guidance: Meeting with assigned school
Check service discipline and work style at assigned schools

Preparation and
Review
This is a teaching practice under the Teachers License Law. Please be aware that you are a ‘ teacher’ for school children. 
Requirements The teaching practice in the areas of intellectual impairments, physical disabilities and health impairments will be held in the university-affiliated Shinonome Elementary School or Junior High School and the prefectural (municipal) special needs school. If you are absent from the orientation and the advance guidance during the summer break, you may be denied the teaching practice. Please check bulletin board posting. 
Grading Method Students will be evaluated comprehensively based on preparation for teaching, teaching skills, student guidance, and commitment to research.  
Practical Experience Experienced  
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Dr. Kawai has experiences of working at public schools and university in the United States as a speech-language pathologist.
Dr. Ujima has worked for 12 years at a school for the blind.
They introduce practical contents based on their experiences during students' practice at the Special Needs Education Schools and the Special Classes.
