To understand fundamental and basic knowledge needed for teaching home economics for elementary schools
 
Class Schedule Lesson1  In this course, students will learn 5 areas of home economics.The order of lessons of each area will be explained in the first lesson: Guidance. The following shows the lesson plan of the 5 areas:
Clothing life:
Lesson2  1. The contents of the area of clothing life in home economics for elementary schools. Three functions of clothing.
Lesson3  2. Creating useful things for living. Hand sawing.
Lesson4  3. How to care clothes. How to use a sawing machine and sawing goods safety.
Dietary life:
Lesson5  1. Learning contents of dietary life filed in home economics for elementary school.
Lesson6  2. Role of meals and meals considered nutrition.
Lesson7  3. Safe handling of cookware and foundation for cooking.
Lesson8  4. Meal planning considering nutrition, pleasure and taste.
Housing:
Lesson9  1. The contents of the area of housing life in home economics for elementary schools.
Lesson10  2. Function of housing, Life to adjust the change of season.
Lesson11  3. Keeping things tidy and in order, Housecleaning.
Consumption and economic life:
Lesson12  1. Today’s consumer life and consumer,Consumer behavior and sustainable society

1: (Preparation) Look back on your daily life and think why you wear clothes.
  (Review): Recall what has been taught about clothing life in elementary school’s home economics class and think about the meaning of studying functions of clothes.
2. (Preparation) Look back on your knowledge and skills about sawing, think about goods made by fabrics and their construction.
(Review): Create a work about necessary knowledge and skills for caring clothes and think about capabilities utilized in clothing life.
3. (Preparation) Look back on your daily clothing life, think about clothes to see your knowledge and skills about clothing life.
(Review): Try to care clothes and get your attitude about utilized in clothing life.
Dietary life:
1.(Preparation): Think about the learning contents of dietary filed in home economics so far.
(Review): Understand the significance of learning contents of learning dietary filed in home economics for the elementary school.
2. (Preparation): Look back on your own meal contents so far.
(Review): Organize the points to run better meals.
3. (Preparation): Think about points to be careful in cooking.
(Review): Learn the basic non-heating and heating cooking operation.

Content of Home Economics in elementary school:
Look back on the contents of the five fields that you have learned in this class. Consider the contents composition of home economics in elementary school from an integrated viewpoint.
 
Requirements  
Grading Method Students will be evaluated based on reports and exams of each of the five areas. The sum of scores of those areas will be a final grade. The details of point allocation of each area will be explained in the orientation.
