The aim of this lecture is to deepen some archaeological methodologies concretely, and to learn archaeological practice "morphology", "distribution", "use ", "dating". 
Class Schedule Lesson1; Handout excavation reports on archaeology and a list of related research topics and books. Assignment of presentations. Explanation of exercise presentation methods (research methods).
Lesson 2; Specific explanation of how to read excavation reports and how to prepare presentation resumes (organization and critique of papers).
Lesson 3; Reading of excavation reports, and specific explanation of how to prepare resumes for presentations (how to prepare papers).
Lesson 4; Specific explanation of how to read excavation reports and how to prepare resumes for presentations (how to read reports).
Lesson 5; Specific explanation of how to read excavation reports and how to prepare resumes for presentations (critique of reports).
Lesson 6; Research presentation and discussion on the contents of excavation reports and related topics (excavation and archaeological sites of the Paleolithic period).(Reading and review of Paleolithic papers).

The most effective way is to read reports on archaeological prospection 
Requirements Students majoring in  archaeology only can be accepted in this class for it’s highly-professional specialty.  
Grading Method Practical evaluation by your presentation (60%), and the attitude of participation in class, Qs & As (40%), with considering the under mentioned points 1-4.

  2. Abundant collection of data.
  3. Contents of briefing papers.
  4. Presentation.
 
Practical Experience Experienced  
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Work experience. Based on the excavation procedure permitted by the Kyoto Prefectural Board of Education and so on, we will conduct classes how to read archaeological reports by archaeological research work experience and survey report preparation experience.
