Class Objectives
/Class Outline This class aims to understand conflict resolution mechanisms and their challenges.
Each conflict has different contexts and causes. Thus, conflict resolution tools and goals should be varied in every case.
Conflict Resolution I contains relatively more lectures and group discussions while in Conflict Resolution II students learn conflict resolution through preparation of group presentations.
In this class, we discuss what is the conflict and decide what kind of issues shall be deal with in the class. In previous years, we discussed issues including LGBTQ+community (Queer issue), Japanese attitude towards wartime history, media and bias, situation in Syria and South Sudan, education in Rwanda, school bullying and so on.
The schedule is fixed along the course of our discussion.
