(Applicable only to targeted subjects for undergraduate students) In this class entitled “Global environment and Ocean (tentative)”, under the situation that the global environmental issue caused by the increase in the anthropogenic CO2 after the industry revolution is critical problem in the world, students understand that the ocean, which covers approximately 70% of the Earth surface, plays an important role in controlling the atmospheric CO2 and start to consider the change in their life style for the global environment.

/Class Outline Students understand the distribution and behavior of chemical substances in the ocean associated with the Global / Ocean environment and the Ocean’s potential ability of the control in the global environment.

Practical Experience Experienced

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it Visiting lecturers can give lectures based on his practical experience (ocean observation) as a scientist who belongs to the national research and development agency.

Message This lecture will focus on “global environmental issues” with a focus on the “ocean”, so there is no need for students to be an expert on the “ocean”. In addition, although the focus is on understanding the “chemical characteristics of the ocean”, there is minimal memorization of chemical symbols and chemical formulas that are unique to “chemistry”, so even if students are not good at “chemistry” (not a major) It is possible to understand the content even if there is no such thing. Students who are interested in the ability to control the global environment and one of the blessings of the sea are very welcome to this course.
