To learn basic knowledge and experimental techniques required in analyses and interpretation of natural environments through laboratory and field studies. 
Class Schedule ・Primary practice of topography, and water and material cycle; to extract and analyze a topographic map information and to observe a valley topography and cycles of water and material in a field scale. (1-4: Onodera, Ishida)
・Environmental geology experiments to understand the dynamics and cycles of geologically derived elements in the natural environment. (5-7: Saito)
・Geophysical fluid dynamics experiments in relation to double-diffusive convection and Kelvin-Helmholtz instability. (8-11: Ozawa)
・Chemical analysis of inorganic and organic compounds in river waters to assess river environments. (12-15: Takeda, Iwamoto)
