/Class Outline
The objective of this course is to understand how to view and examine landforms, geology, rock, soil, and river water found near the surface of the earth. In particular, we will learn how to read and write topographic and geologic maps, observe minerals and rocks, observe rock thin sections, evaluate physical properties of soil, observe river flow, and observe paleontological specimens.

Requirements This course and "Fundamental Laboratory Course in Geology" should be registered simultaneously.
Credit earning in duplicate with this course and "Experimental Methods and Laboratory Work in Earth Sciences" is not allowed.
