Students are going to obtain the knowledge on the large strain problem, which is important to study an advanced field of solid mechanics. The related topics such as material and geometric non-linearity will be explained.

4 Restudy on the fundamentals of solid mechanics ( Boundary value problem of governing equation and variational principles )
5 Summaries on the reviews of the fundamentals of solid mechanics
6 Decomposition of deformation gradient and measure of deformation
7 Some kinds of stress and strain
8 The large deformation problem including the variational principle
9 Midterm examination
10 Micromechanics
11 Asymptotic homogenization method
12 Continuum thermo-mechanics
13 Continuum crystal plasticity
14 Analogy of electromagnetism
15 Couple stress, Micropolar theory, and strain gradient theory

Grading Method The course score is totally evaluated by the individual scores of reports and short exams, the midterm exam, and the final exam and reports submitted. The weight for the evaluation is 2:6:2. Students who marked over 60% can be passed.
