Class Objectives

This course aims to cultivate students’ research ability through making presentation and discussion on dissertation research plan and methodologies and reviewing archival studies. 
Class Schedule 1st semester of 1st year:
1st session: orientation
2nd - 15th sessions: students' presentation on literature review, research plan and journal preparation/submission and Q&A.
2nd semester of 1st year:
16th - 29th sessions: same as in 2nd - 15th sessions
30th session: students will submit the output of the literature review and the field research plan to the academic supervisor.
1st semester of 2nd year:
1st - 14th sessions: students' presentation on research progress and journal preparation/submission and Q&A.
15th session: students will submit the framework of the PhD dissertation to the academic supervisor.
2nd semester of 2nd year:
16th - 29th sessions: same as in 1st - 14th sessions.
30 session: students will submit the summary of the PhD dissertation to the academic supervisor.
1st semester of 3rd year:
1st - 14 sessions: students' presentation on research progress and journal preparation/submission and Q&A.
15th session: students will submit the first PhD draft to the academic supervisor.
2nd semester of 3rd year:
16th - 22nd and 24th - 29th sessions: as in the 1st - 15 sessions.
23rd session: Submit the updated PhD dissertation draft to the academic supervisor.
30th session: students will submit the final PhD dissertation to the academic supervisor.

Requirements  
Grading Method Grade for this class will be given by the comprehensive assessment based on oral presentation (70%) and contribution to in-class discussion (30%).
