Flipped classroom. A combination of on-demand lectures and face-to-face discussions. Discussions will be conducted face-to-face. However, this may change based on how well the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic can be prevented in the classroom.

This course is designed to introduce various techniques and ideas in teaching four skills and fundamental knowledge of Japanese language for communicative use, and allows students to practice, analyze, and evaluate different instructional techniques.

lesson3 Lexical Knowledge and instruction of Japanese lexicon
lesson4 Teaching practice: Pronunciation
lesson5 Listening ability and development of listening skills
lesson6 Teaching practice: Vocabulary  
lesson7 Reading ability and development of reading skills
lesson8 Teaching practice: Listening
lesson9 Approaches to Teaching grammar
lesson10 Teaching practice: Reading
lesson11 Speaking ability and instructional strategies
lesson12 Teaching practice: Grammar
lesson13 Writing skills and writing instruction  
lesson14 Teaching practice: Conversation
lesson15 Teaching practice: Writing 
         TF(Yasuko Okano)will be in charge of this session.

For each skill, students will submit comprehension questions from the lecture and assignments related to teaching in the manner specified.

The lecture will be delivered through Bb9. Discussion assignments may be posted through Bb9.

Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it One of the instructor of this course has over twenty years of experience in teaching Japanese as a foreign language and has taught all levels of Japanese.
