To learn basic knowledge and experimental techniques required for analyses and interpretation of natural environments through laboratory and field studies. 
Class Schedule ・Analysis of geological data: lineament, fold structure, electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray analysis. (1-3: Hirayama)
・Colloid Science (4-9: Villeneuve, Iwamoto)
1. Length of paper tapes [statistics, accuracy and precision, significant figures]
2. Surface tension measurement of surfactant solution [thermodynamics]
3. Synthesis and coagulation of Fe(OH)3 colloid [stability of colloids]
4. Size distribution of aerosol [statistics, stability of colloids, thermodynamics]
