/Class Outline
  Learn basic theory and latest observations of interstellar gas and dust mainly based on infrared observations. Discuss the evolution of interstellar matter of Galactic and extragalaxies 
Class Schedule One or two lectures will be spent for each of the followings subjects.
1. Overview of interstellar matter
2. Absorption and scattering by small particles
3. Observations of interstellar gas
4. Observations of interstellar dust I: Optical and ultraviolet
5. Observations of interstellar dust II: Infrared and X-ray
6. Infrared radiation from galaxies and evolution of interstellar matter
