This course is based on Academic Writing I. Students will conduct a small research project, collect and analyze data and then write a 800-1000-word research paper.
This assignment will allow students to experience all the stages of writing a research paper. The instruction will help provide information on paper writing, the academic narrative, and academic integrity. |

Lesson 1: The Academic Research paper: Finding a feasible topic.
Task 1: Literature search
Lesson 2: Organising ideas: Writing Outlines
Students submit list of 10 academic papers.
Lesson 3: Writing a research question/thesis statement
Lesson 4: Writing the literature review
Lesson 5: Writing the method section – Data Collection due
Lesson 6: The results section: How to incorporate tables, graphs, and figures
Lesson 7: The discussion section: How to interpret the results
Lesson 8: Task: Writing the Discussion
Lesson 9: Editing, proof-reading and revising
Lesson 10: Consultation session
Lesson 11: Peer-feedback on Research Paper Draft 1
Lesson 12: Research Paper Draft 1 Due
Lesson 13: Peer-feedback on Research Paper Draft 2
