This is a specialized course. The purpose of this course is for students to acquire specialized knowledge & understanding, capabilities & skills, and comprehensive ability of secondary science content (biology).

・With regard to science education in secondary education, to be able to conduct basic observations and experiments, and to handle computer processing. 
Class Objectives
/Class Outline
The purpose of this course is for students to have discussions on highly diverse marine organisms as teaching materials. A discussion theme will be selected from various academic fields. This course will include observations and experiments through which the students will cultivate practical skills needed to be a teacher. 
Class Schedule 1.Classification and Observation
2. Distributional Study of Life on Rocky Shores  
3. Observation of Artificial Fertilization and Development Process of Purple Sea Urchin, Sea Squirt, Pacific Oyster, etc. 
4. Collection, Observation, and Classification of Plankton 
5. Collection and Luminescence Experiment of Sea Fireflies 
6. Dissection and Observation of Barnacles, Chitons, and Purple Sea Urchin 
7. Day-Long Action Observation of Limpets and Chitons. The contents may change depending on circumstances.

Students will be required to submit a report by a designated due date.

This 5-day course will include observation and experiments using marine organisms in order to enhance qualities that can contribute to the enrichment of the contents of secondary biology.
