In this class, students will learn to analyze regional patterns and structures through the example of the Seto Inland Sea. This is a highly complex and diverse region and has the advantage that students can verify their knowledge by visiting the area directly.

lesson2 A cultural transit road: history
lesson3 A region of contrasts: Islands and urban areas
lesson4 A region of environmental destruction and recovery
lesson5 A productive region: industry
lesson6 A changing region: islands left behind, islands revisited
lesson7 An attractive region: tourism
lesson8 Conclusions

There will be a final report. Students will research about industries in the Seto Inland Sea area in a group and present the results in class. REsults will be summarized in a report.
