Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Thermodynamics forms the basis of science through the generality of its main concept and its practical applicability. This branch of physics has developed as macroscopic phenomenology, and has contributed to the creation of a concrete definition of temperature and clarified the efficiency limit of heat engines. Thermodynamics is the basis for understanding the equilibrium states of materials and their physical and chemical properties, along with non-equilibrium transitions. In this course of Thermodynamics II, the basic laws and ideas of thermodynamics are applied in order to give an understanding of the physical and chemical properties of materials with free energy.
