Various technologies are used to maintain the safety of structures such as vehicle for transportation and as environmental equipment. In recent years, safety and reliability of the equipment and systems are not only secured, but also economy of maintenance and consideration to social influence by an accident are strongly requested.
In this lecture, equipment diagnosis technology that is the basic technology for safety management of the vehicles and the environmental systems is learned. Moreover, instrumentation technology to monitor the health of structures and to detect the damage and the deterioration is learned. Smart structure that became possible by the development of information-communication technology and new functional material, and structural vibration control that uses the modern control theory are also learned.

Lesson 1-15 : Read the material distributed each time well, and investigate the matter with the concern. 
Requirements  
Grading Method The result is evaluated by exercises (10%) and reports (90%). It passes by 60 points or more in total.
Anyone who has more than six class-long, unexcused absences will receive a "D" grade for the course.
