Class Objectives
/Class Outline
Through this course, the students are expected to learn the theory of student centered lesson and points of lesson observation, and acquire practical and concrete knowledge by observing the lesson videos. The contents of “Theory and Practice of Curriculum and Instruction I” are on lesson planning, questioning, science experiments, mathematical activities and social studies learning.
Finally students are required to submit a final lesson plan of science, mathematics or social studies.
If any chance, lesson observation may be done in the attached elementary school and public elementary school. According to the schedule of the attached schools, the extra hours except the normal hours (Wednesday 1・2・3・4 periods and 5) may be utilized for lesson observation. In that case, after the class, the teachers of the observed lessons will give a lecture on the lessons.

Watching the lesson video repeatedly is to strengthen observation ability and insight of lesson. 
Requirements During the first week, there will be general explanation about the whole course, and so the possible students are expected to attend the lecture.  
Grading Method ・Attitudes will be evaluated in terms of participation.
・Students are required to submit a report on lesson observation four times and the report will be evaluated in term of how they grasp the perspectives of observation.
・The final lesson plan will be evaluated in terms of how they can implement students centered approach in the lesson.
