The class focuses on different education related topics introduced and analyzed from two different perspectives, historical and sociological. Through this process, we will find some insights in order to reflect on present day’s social issues.

For each of the topics, we will hand out texts that are to be read before the next class in order to be able to fully participate to the class.  
Requirements The lectures are given in Japanese. In some rare case, material handed during the class may be in English.  
Grading Method Participation in the class :  60%
Final report :  40%
