This subject is an information subject as one of common subjects in Biological Science program. Students learn knowledge and skill for information processing for research in biological science and for intellectual activities as a member of society. Students also learn knowledge for rules and morals on computer network and problematic points in information-oriented society. 
Expected OutcomeEach student learn both computer literacy and information literacy, especially those for selecting necessary information from a huge information available, and organizing, processing and  presenting information. In addition, students learn how to search and utilize the information in biological science.

Repeat the content after each class, and search for related information.
It is strongly recommended to do work beforehand for 10th to 12th class (Advanced 1) for web page design, HTML and Perl languages and UNIX shell and commands. 
Requirements All the lessons are given as online lectures this year.
At each lesson, students must login the classroom on Microsoft Teams and the Bb9 course.
Additional information for each leason will be given on Momiji.
It is necessary for students to attend all the classes.

Grading Method Students are evaluated based on the attitude for each class (about 50%) and the report (about 50%) for each section. Total score is calculated based on the weighed average of scores for each section. 
Practical Experience  
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it  
Message In basic sections, students learn rules and morals and basic skill on information processing using internet and computer. In advanced sections, students learn more practical skills on searching and transmitting information using internet, especially those in biological science field. Ten faculty members share each section as indicated in the schedule.
