Students in this course are expected to propose and conduct a research project which makes a significant contribution to the field of instructed language acquisition in Japanese.  They are also expected to deliver the research effectively through oral presentations and research papers.

The course is designed to allow students to develop a more in-depth understanding of the process of second language learning in various settings, through an examination of different theoretical approaches. A second goal is to provide students with opportunities to pursue individual research questions related to the field of second language learning and teaching.

Preparation and
You must be able to demonstrate the significance of your research first.  Otherwise, your plan of research is not considered valid.  In order to come up with a meaningful research topic, you need to read relevant literature exhaustively and critically review them. 
Requirements MA in Japanese language education or relevant field.  
Grading Method Presentations and paper 50%
Active participation 50%
Absence in more than 5 lessons will result in failure in this course.
