Class Objectives
/Class Outline
In recent years, the scene along with the advancement of technology, the development of new material is forced for the advancement of mechanical systems and machinery also increased, demand for "materials engineer to understand the machine" and "machine engineer to understand the material" it was strong. Content should intrude to a microscopic behavior and properties have come to be included much in this case the "material". In this lecture, as the basis of lecture material related subsequent, to understand the phenomena that lead to changes to the structure of the machine material.
(1) Type of crystal structure, display of surface and direction in the crystal, the ability to understand and explain the structure of the material and crystal defects. (B-1)
(2)The ability to understand the concept of explanation equilibrium, equilibrium diagram and diffusion of atoms, the phase transformation. (B-1)
(3)The ability to understand and explain the nature elastic deformation, pseudoelastic and thermal expansion or the like due to the coupling of the atoms. (B-1)
(4)The ability to understand and explain the strengthening mechanism of the material and the movement of plastic deformation, slip deformation crystal and dislocations. (B-1)

The evaluation item "knowledge and understanding", and "the ability and skill" is as follows.
"Capability. That can be answered on the basis of adequate knowledge and understanding of the end of each chapter of the textbook problem"

Class Schedule lesson1: Substance, atomic union and how atomic binding the structure of the material and crystal defects. (B-1)
lesson2: Crystal defects and the secon crystal structure
lesson3: Amorphous solid, mechanical material
lesson4: Phase law, binary system equilibrium diagram
lesson5: Binary system equilibrium diagram, diffusion
lesson6: Diffusion, phase transformation
lesson7:  Overview elastic modulus first, the end of chapter2 test, the deformation
lesson8: Elasticity viewed from the structure and bonding of their atoms
lesson9: Pseudoelasticity
lesson10: Thermal properties of solid
lesson11: Plastic deformation of single crystal
lesson12:  Movement of dislocation and slip deformation of the crystal

Preparation and
Review
This course along the textbook, but use power-point, so be familiar with the textbook. preparation and review both.
Requirements
Grading Method Shown in Outline, the achievement of the four items of "target of class", is evaluated by the sum of the end of chapter two tests. Performance evaluation, and the passing mark is 60% overall rating. However ,we evaluate only for the person who has submitted all issues.
Practical Experience
Summary of Practical Experience and Class Contents based on it
Message (B-1) shown at the end of each item of the goals of the class in the "Overview of class" represents the learning and educational objectives of the Cluster 1.
