1. Awareness: First start with where the issue is. → From passive learning to active studying
2. Reading: Practice reading technical theses → It is not until to this point that your studies are regarded as ones conducted in a university!
3. Discussion: Learn how to construct discussions about grammar research → This is essential not only for grammar research but for good command of grammar as a tool for Japanese teaching!
4. Explanation: Learn skills of how to do an oral presentation easy to understand for others → This is essential to any career you will take in the future! 
Class Schedule Lesson 1 Orientation

Lesson 2~15
 We share technical articles about modern Japanese grammar and read.
 The subjects describe interesting grammatical phenomenon that contribute to the acquisition of Japanese learners. Recomended articles are selected that are both useful and theoretically interesting.

 At first the person in charge comments on content based on a handout and adds a comment, and other student attending a lectures give a question, the opinion for it, and the class advances by the flow that discussion does together every time afterwards. 
Instructions concerning textbooks and teaching materials are given in the first lesson.

Preparation and
Lesson 2-Lesson 15
・ All the student attending a lectures reading the planned teaching materials carefully, and arranging a point of argument and a questionable point.
・ The student in charge prepare for explanation understanding the logic of the argument well (even for a person who didn't do any preparation) 
Requirements * Equivalent to specialized subject Japanese Language (Japanese Linguistics)
1, Limited to students who have taken Pedagogical Japanese Grammar generally. Number of students can be limited (up to ten students).
2, Attend the first lesson (guidance) firmly as role of each students will be decided.
Students who did not take the first lesson without unavoidable reason will not be approved to take this lesson.
3, Students who plan to write graduation thesis with professor Shirakawa’s instruction must take this lesson.
4, I want active students, not quiet listeners. 
Grading Method Making of handout, Oral presentation, Participation in discussion, etc. are evaluated comprehensively

Message You cannot learn grammar knowledge if you only listen to the class. You have to learn it  thinking on your own head.
