Class Objectives /Class Outline |
The objective of this course is to acquire fundamental knowledge of computers through learning hardware of electronic computers related to information and computer in secondary education. |
Class Schedule |
Lesson1: Course guidance The instructor will explain an overview of various aspects of information and computers as problem solution and explain the basic configuration of hardware. Lesson2: Expression of Information Students will learn binary number and decimal number, which are the foundation of expression of information. Lesson3: Expression of Information Students will learn caliculation via binary number and hexadecimal number. Lesson4: Expression of Information Students will learn two's complement. Lesson5: Expression of Information Students will learn expression and calculation of negative numbers via two's complement. Lesson6: Expression of Information Students will learn error detection, correction of code and coding. Lesson7: Logical Operation Students will learn basic logical operation such as AND, OR, NOT. Lesson8: Logical Operation Students will learn logical operation based on truth table, De Morgan, etc. Lesson9: Logic Circuit: Students will learn logical functions, sum of products and Venn diagram. Lesson10: Logic Circuit: Students will logic circuits using the Karnaugh map and arithmetic circuit (half-adders and full-adders). Lesson11: Sequential Circuit: Students will learn basic sequential circuits using the RS flip-flop. Lesson12: Sequential Circuit: Students will learn digital timing diagram. Lesson13: Storage Function: Students will learn basic circuits of registers using the JK flip-flop. Lesson14: Computer Hardware: This lesson will deal with computer hardware and explain the mechanism. Lesson15: Summary: This lesson will look back on the previous lessons and review the entire course.
