・Having knowledge of psychological traits of children with disabilities as well as basic medical knowledge required in practice. 
Class Objectives

This course will provide students with explanations of psychological aspects of children with health impairments, with touching upon physiology and pathology of health impairments and fragile health, including the definitions of health impairments and fragile health, diseases resulting from health impairments, and the treatment, worries and anxieties of children with health impairments, psychology of their children, what needs to be considered in supporting them, and how self-management support should be.
Class Schedule Lesson1: Definition of health impairments and physical weakness

Lesson2: Physiology and pathology of health impairments 1. Causes and treatment diseases such as bronchial asthma, kidney disease, and leukemia 

Lesson3: Physiology and pathology of health impairments 2. Causes and treatment of diseases such as progressive muscular dystrophy and multiple disabilities

Lesson4: Places of education for children with health impairments

Lesson5: Coordination between education and medical care

Lesson6: Concerns and anxieties of children with health impairments

Lesson7: Understanding of diseases by children with health impairments

Lesson8: Psychology of parents

Lesson9: Things to keep in mind when supporting 1. Subject teaching

Lesson10:Things to keep in mind when supporting 2. Daily life guidance

Lesson11: Self-care instruction and its challenge

Lesson12: Social support and self-management support

Grading Method Students will be evaluated based on reports (to be evaluated based on the learning level of the fundamental knowledge of psychology, physiology, and pathology of children with health impairments and the understanding level of the meaning and importance of self-management support) and class performance.
